Booksy alternatives in Canada and the US

The short answer

Most businesses looking for a Booksy alternative are reacting to paying every month regardless of what arrives. Before you cancel, export your client list and add up what the last three months cost against what they actually produced. Uneven months are where a fixed fee hurts most.

Why businesses go looking

Structural reasons, not complaints. These are properties of how Booksy is built, and they will not change because you asked.

  • The subscription is charged whether or not it produced a single booking that month
  • The cost climbs as you add staff, so growing the team raises the cost of being found
  • Quiet months cost exactly the same as busy ones
  • Card processing sits on top of the subscription

Before you move anything

This advice holds whoever you are leaving and whoever you are going to, us included.

  1. 01

    Do not cancel anything yet

Run the new one alongside the old one for a few weeks. Listing with us is free and there is no monthly fee, so the only cost of overlapping is your time, and it is the only way to compare what each one actually sends you rather than what each one claims.

  2. 02

    Export your client list first

Do this while your account is still active. Check the export for real email addresses, phone-only records and duplicates before you rely on it. A list you cannot contact is not a list, and this is the single thing that is genuinely hard to recover once an account closes.

  3. 03

Let bookings already in the calendar finish where they are

Moving appointments that clients have already confirmed is where mistakes get expensive. Take new bookings on the new system and let the old calendar empty itself out.

  4. 04

Check what happens to deposits in flight

If you take deposits, find out how refunds and payouts are handled for bookings made before you switched. This is worth asking their support directly and getting in writing.

  5. 05

Your reviews usually do not come with you

Reviews are tied to the platform that collected them, and no amount of exporting changes that. Assume you are starting again on ratings wherever you go, and plan to ask your regulars early.

Where we fit

  • No monthly fee is required to be listed or to take bookings, so a quiet month costs nothing
  • We charge $3 flat only when The Chair introduces somebody new
  • Staff are included rather than priced per seat, so hiring does not raise what it costs to be found
  • We cannot move your Booksy reviews, and nobody can. Assume you are starting again on ratings

Common questions about switching

Should I cancel Booksy before trying BurgundyBlend?
No. Listing with us is free, so overlap for a few weeks and cancel once you can see what each one produces. Cancelling first means comparing a real system against a memory of one.
What does BurgundyBlend cost each month?
Nothing is required. Listing, taking bookings and using deposits are free. Grow and Pro lift limits on services, staff and clips, but nothing you need in order to get booked sits behind them.
I have several staff. Does that cost more?
Not for being listed or taking bookings. Staff are included, which is the main structural difference from a per-seat subscription.
