Switching
Fresha alternatives in Canada and the US
The short answer
Most businesses looking for a Fresha alternative are reacting to the commission on new clients rather than to the software. Before you move anything, export your client list and work out what you actually paid last month on clients you brought yourself. That number is usually the decision.

Structural reasons, not complaints. These are properties of how Fresha is built, and they will not change because you asked.
- The fee on a new client is a percentage, so it grows every time you raise your prices
- The same introduction costs far more on a high-value service than a low-value one, for identical work on the platform side
- It is not always obvious which repeat bookings still attract a commission
- Card processing sits on top of whatever the marketplace charges
Before you move anything
This advice holds whoever you are leaving and whoever you are going to, us included.
-
01
Do not cancel anything yet
Run the new one alongside the old one for a few weeks. Listing with us is free and there is no monthly fee, so the only cost of overlapping is your time, and it is the only way to compare what each one actually sends you rather than what each one claims.
-
02
Export your client list first
Do this while your account is still active. Check the export for real email addresses, phone-only records and duplicates before you rely on it. A list you cannot contact is not a list, and this is the single thing that is genuinely hard to recover once an account closes.
-
03
Let bookings already in the calendar finish where they are
Moving appointments that clients have already confirmed is where mistakes get expensive. Take new bookings on the new system and let the old calendar empty itself out.
-
04
Check what happens to deposits in flight
If you take deposits, find out how refunds and payouts are handled for bookings made before you switched. This is worth asking their support directly and getting in writing.
-
05
Your reviews usually do not come with you
Reviews are tied to the platform that collected them, and no amount of exporting changes that. Assume you are starting again on ratings wherever you go, and plan to ask your regulars early.
Where we fit
- Listing is free, so you can run us alongside Fresha and compare before cancelling anything
- We charge $3 flat when The Chair introduces somebody new, and nothing on clients you brought yourself
- Calendar, staff, availability, deposits, payouts and reporting are included, so there is a working system to move into rather than a listing
- We cannot move your Fresha reviews, and nobody can. Assume you are starting again on ratings
